COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating a serious crash involving a pedestrian in Cobb County.
The crash happened around 10 a.m. on Windy Hill Road between Austell and Powder Springs roads.
The road was shut down for a period of time.
Police say a white Smart Car pulled over and a woman got out.
The woman was walked into traffic and was hit by a Ford Explorer.
"The vehicle pulled over the shoulder for unknown reasons, and then the female passenger actually exited the vehicle and that's when she was hit by another vehicle heading eastbound on Windy Hill Road," Cobb County police officer Alicia Chilton said.
The woman was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the SUV has not been charged.
