Family claims boarding facility gave their dogs away without warning

SMYRNA, Ga. — A Cobb County family is suing a local dog-boarding facility for $250,000.

The family claims Bark Avenue in Smyrna got rid of their dogs without a warning.

"They're our family. We just want them home," said Chandler Dollahite. "It's three little dachshunds and a Pyreness."

Dollahite is suing the longtime business, claiming malice and fraud. She says the boarding facility gave her dogs away without proper notice.

"Its been a long time since I've seen them, but I just refuse to give up hope," she said.

Dollahite told Channel 2's Chris Jose that her father dropped off the four dogs at Bark Avenue on Memorial Day weekend. Dollahite said she was in Texas for the month on business and her father had emergency surgery. Due to her father's medical condition, Dollahite said he was unable to pick up the pets.

"You think that your dogs are okay and all of a sudden, they're gone," said Dollahite.
