Clerk assaulted during bridal shop robbery

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police are looking for two men who assaulted and robbed a clerk at a Gwinnett County bridal shop.

Officers told Channel 2's Tom Regan the armed men burst into So Good Beauty and Bridal on Steve Reynolds Boulevard just after noon Thursday.

One of the men roughed up the clerk and then took money from a cash register, police spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter said.

"Scary moment, never been through that in my life. I was petrified," a victim told Regan.

"He was demanding the cashier for money and told him to 'Open it now, give him the money,'" she said.

The clerk was not seriously injured.

The robbers made off with a small amount of cash, police said. Police said one man wore a mask and another wore a hooded sweatshirt during the robbery.

Customers said they feared for their lives, and some tried to escape the store during the crime.

"I was running out of the store. I thought maybe they would see us running and try to open fire. I was scared," the victim told Regan.

Police told Regan they are working on several leads as they search for the men.
