GBI: Officer shoots at shoplifter trying to leave Home Depot in pickup truck

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has learned a shooting involving an officer at a local Home Depot started as a shoplifting call.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed to Channel 2's Tom Jones Riverdale officers shot at a suspect at the store off Lamar Hutcheson Parkway.

The suspect has been identifed as Terry Bradshaw, 42, who is in serious condition at Atlanta Medical Center. Two officers involved sustained minor injuries.

Police are questioning a woman who was in the truck with the suspect.

Officers confronted Bradshaw after he left the store, according to the GBI. He then got into a physical altercation with the officers.

Agents say Bradshaw broke away from one officer and tried to get away in his pick up truck.  A second officer fired shots and hit Bradshaw as he drove away.

A Channel 2 Action News photographer captured images of bullet holes in the back of the truck following the shooting.
