Child taken by car thieves found safe

RIVERDALE, Ga. — Clayton County police said a child is safe after three thieves stole two cars out of the parking lot of a day care center.

Police were called to the Childcare Network day care center on W. Fayetteville Road in Riverdale just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said the cars were still running when the thieves jumped in and stole them.

Surveillance video shows a young man get out of a car, sneak inside the passenger side door of a gray Nissan Altima and then slide behind the wheel and take off.

Another camera at the other end of the day care lot showed a second suspect get out the back of a car and jump into a white Hyundai Santa Fe with a 6-year-old boy in the back seat.
