CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. — Only 330 college football players eligible for the NFL Draft were invited to the league's scouting combine in Indianapolis this year.
When you consider that there are north of 1,000 member institutions in the NCAA (all divisions), that number of 330 is a small fraction of eligible players from around the country.
Now consider that UGA's Reggie Davis would likely have run in the top four in the 40-yard dash at the combine. Washington wide receiver John Ross set a new official record of 4.22 seconds.

Minnesota defensive back Jalen Myrick was second at 4.28 seconds, while Ohio State wideout Curtis Samuel had the third-fastest time (4.31 seconds.)
Davis, a senior Bulldogs wide receiver and kick returner did not get invited to Indiana, but during the school's Pro Day on Wednesday, he showed 55 representatives from the 32 NFL teams and the CFL's BC Lions that he can run with the best of them.
