Courthouse in Clarke County evacuated due to bomb threat

CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. — All roads were blocked around the Clarke County Courthouse Tuesday afternoon due to a bomb threat.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department said 325 E Washington Street was blocked due to the threat.

The courthouse was evacuated, according to police. They said the threat was phoned in to the 911 center.

All drivers were asked to avoid the area until police cleared the roads.
