Chilly temperatures continue

ATLANTA — Tuesday morning brought cold air to metro Atlanta, and it isn't expected to warm up much.

"Today, it's cold. We're going to stay chilly throughout the day," Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

The day began with temperatures in the 20s, but a breeze dropped the wind chill into the teens. Metro area temperatures are expected to peak in the mid-40s in the afternoon, but some areas in upper north Georgia won't get out of the 30s.

Skies are expected to stay clear, but temperatures will drop overnight and return to the 20s by Wednesday morning. By the end of the week, it should be back to the mid-50s.

"Your five-day forecast shows a slow warming trend, back to the 50s by Thursday," Minton said.

She expects showers on Friday and highs in the mid-50s.
