Police search for suspects in gun store robbery

HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. — Authorities released surveillance video Thursday that captured several suspects involved in a Cherokee County gun store robbery.

The video, time-stamped  5:20  a.m. Wednesday, shows three people running towards the Hi-Caliber Range and Gun Store off Spring Hill Parkway. Another person can be seen backing a gold Dodge Durango into the store, while a fifth person serves as the lookout. A pickup truck is seen parked at the edge of the parking lot, while several cars pass by the incident.

Wednesday’s incident marks the third time the store has been broken into this year. Surveillance from the first break-in in March shows two suspects throwing a large rock through the front window. They were in and out of the store in 16 seconds.

The second incident happened just a month later. It’s unclear whether the suspects seen in this week’s incident were involved in previous robberies. Holly Springs authorities said they are comparing the surveillance to other similar incidents in other jurisdictions.

The store’s owner told Channel 2 that they’ve increased security with each incident.

“We have spent an enormous amount of money in the last year putting in state-of-the-art items, and every time you do something, the criminals counter with something else,” said Sean Jerguson.

"We're mom and pop businesses and things like (that), this is devastating,” he continued. “It’s a tremendous amount of money."

There was police presence in front of the business Thursday night.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Holly Springs Criminal Investigations Division at 770.345.5538.
