LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - A Gwinnett County family escaped injury after a woman crashed her car through her house and into another nearby home.
The crash happened Monday night on Lynnfield Circle in Lawrenceville.
“My son called me and said a car went through my house, went through the garage. I’m like, ‘What?’” homeowner Syllana Charles said.
A white Toyota smashed through two homes before coming to a stop. Charles said her neighbor was behind the wheel.
“It went through her garage, living room, kitchen and straight through my house and hit my car,” Charles said.
Charles said her car in the garage may have saved her teenage children’s lives. They were home watching television at the time of the crash.
“It would’ve killed the kids and probably went all the way through the living room,” Charles said.
Police said they are not sure how the driver lost control or if there was a mechanical problem with her car.
“Everybody’s OK. That’s a good thing,” Charles said.
Both homes suffered extensive damage.
No charges have been filed against the driver.
