ATLANTA - An Atlanta police officer was injured while responding to a call of a car that crashed into a home Wednesday morning.
Police said a stolen truck struck a house in southeast Atlanta near Woodland Avenue and Vickers Street around 7 a.m.
An officer who was dispatched to the home fell into a creek. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man who lives in the home told Channel 2’s Rachel Stockman the car hit his house outside his 2-year-old’s bedroom. He said the car knocked over a column and shook the entire house.
The man said he saw the driver try to back out, but the car was stuck in the mud, so he ran.
Stockman said police are still looking for the driver.
