Buckhead restaurant redeems itself after low inspection score

ATLANTA — A Buckhead restaurant has redeemed itself after receiving two failing health inspection scores in one year.

Istanblue Restaurant and Bar on Pharr Road scored a 59 out of 100 on May 9. Inspectors reported seeing raw meat stored improperly above dough and produce items, personal items (cigarettes and cellphones) stored on food prep space and the latest inspection score sheet was not posted at the front entrance.

In June, Istanblue scored a 67, but scored a 76 upon reinspection 10 days later. If a restaurant fails a reinspection, it will be shut down.

In light of the 59 score earlier this month, Istanblue was reinspected May 15 and received a perfect score. Channel 2's Carol Sbarge went to the restaurant and saw the score posted at the front entrance.

Sbarge requested an interview with the owner but was told he was out of town. She was told he would call her to follow up, but she has not yet received a call.
