A Buckhead nightclub employee is facing charges for allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian Friday morning.
Atlanta police said Emily Jarrett, a Havana Club employee, was arrested and charged with first-degree vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident with injury.
Police said a valet driver called police around 1 a.m. When police arrived at the club, they located an unresponsive victim in critical condition. The victim appeared to be suffering from being struck by a vehicle and later died of the injuries, police said.
After interviewing the valet driver, reviewing surveillance camera footage and inspecting a car near the scene, it was determined that Jarrett ran over the victim, police said.
Police have not released the victim's identity pending notification of the family.
