Boys, 14 and 16, charged in stabbing death of Marietta teen

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- — Marietta police have arrested two teens in the stabbing death of an 18-year-old Saturday night.

Police said they responded to an area near the Cobb Community Transport (CCT) Terminal parking lot, located at 800 South Marietta Parkway, at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found 18-year-old Marqise Carruthers with a single knife wound to the chest.

Carruthers was rushed to Kennestone Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Investigators said they learned an altercation occurred between Carruthers and two other teens at another location, and ended violently near the CCT parking lot.

On Sunday, detectives arrested 14-year-old Josue Chapa and 16-year-old Brandon Betancourt, both of Marietta, and charged them as adults with murder.
