Bomb threats made at at least 6 local movie theaters

Bomb threats have been called into several metro Atlanta Carmike movie theaters.

Threats have been confirmed at theaters in Canton, Snellville, Cartersville, Conyers, Hiram and Newnan.

Carmike Theaters said all of its locations in metro Atlanta have been checked and cleared.

Carmike director of marketing Terrell Mayton said the called identified themselves as an employee of a vendor used by the company. He did not comment on why the threats were made.

Mayton said threats were made in multiple states, but nothing has been found. He said threats had to do with the movie "The Expendables II" and every theater showing the film is being or has been checked.

The threat was called into a Carmike Theaters southeast office.

Local agencies are responding to the threatened theaters.
