ATLANTA,None - Atlanta police are investigating after a body was found near a park Thursday. The discovery was made by the victim’s aunt.
Police said a dead man was found on Collier Drive near Harwell Heights Park. Officers were called to the scene about 10 a.m.
Family members told Channel 2’s Carl Willis the victim had been missing since Saturday. They said the last time he was seen was at his grandmother's funeral.
The victim’s body was found in a wooded area. Police said a crew from the city parks found the body as they were cutting the grass near the park. One of the crew members was the victim’s aunt.
Relatives identified the victim as 22-year-old Arkenius Cobb. They said they knew something was wrong when he didn't answer their calls.
"We tried to warn the police, tried to warn everybody. What if we could have helped him?" the victim’s cousin, Star Young, told Willis.
Police said they were working to determine Cobb’s cause of death.
