Body of 15-year-old found near Clayton County golf course

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police found the body of a 15-year-old boy near an old golf course Tuesday night.

Clayton County police found the teen at about 6 p.m. in a wooded area near Tee Trace and Iverness Trace. It appeared the teen had been shot.

Two people found the victim's body as they were walking along the old golf cart trail. Police don't know how he died, but they did say he had a gunshot wound.

Channel 2's Rachel Stockman spoke to police Wednesday as they gathered evidence at the scene.  Neighbors said teens use the area located behind a residential community as a cut-through to get to the main road.

Police are investigating the death and asks anyone with information to call the Clayton County Police Department Line at 770-477-3513.
