ATLANTA - Midtown Atlanta’s Atlantic Station district has decided to ban smoking on its property, according to an announcement on its Facebook page.
Comments below the post were mixed. Some said it was great news, while others said smoking should be allowed in an outdoor area.
Earlier this week, Atlantic Station took to Facebook to solicit customer opinions before the final decision was made.
Atlantic Station has not specified when the smoking ban will go into effect but said it will come just in time for the BB&T Atlanta Open tennis tournament, which begins July 14.
Non-smoking policies may vary for restaurants in the development, according to its website. “Smoking spot” signs will also be placed around the perimeter of the property to identify designated smoking areas.
“We want Atlantic Station to be a place where families can enjoy themselves and we’d love to see Midtown become an even healthier community,” the Atlantic Station website said.
