ATLANTA — Police are investigating the shooting death of a woman, who was killed while driving in southwest Atlanta.
Atlanta police said a 25-year old woman had just gotten off work around 5:30 a.m. Thursday and was driving through a neighborhood on Hadlock Street when it happened.
Police said they counted 25 shell casings from at least three different weapons.
Two rounds hit the woman in the back of the head. She later died at the hospital, police said.
“It’s too early to tell right now if she was a target or if she got caught in the crossfire or what the circumstances might be,” Maj. Adam Lee said.
Police tell Channel 2's Richard Eliot the woman crashed into nearby bushes, where neighbors found her.
