Investigators arrested Deanna Roberts at her home north of Orlando, Florida yesterday. She remains in custody because the judge considered her a danger to the community.

The indictment says Roberts injected liquid silicone into the buttocks, hips, lips and other body parts of customers for enhancement of those areas, in exchange for money.

Last November, a popular Atlanta drag queen, Lateasha Shuntel, posted a Facebook message thanking Roberts by name, and referencing the pain in her buttocks, intimating it was due to injections.

Shuntel, who was also known as Lateasha Hall, was found dead at her home in Doraville the next day. %

Roberts is charged with eight counts, including knowingly possessing and transporting liquid silicone across state lines and injecting it into several patients.

One of the patients described in the indictment has the initials L.H. and the date of the injections matches the Facebook post from Hall. %

Roberts was not a licensed medical professional, however the indictment alleges that she pretended to be.

She's accused of using fraud and deception to buy 178 gallons of liquid silicone during the prior 11 years. The liquid silicone was not FDA approved for that use.
