Mother to alleged DUI driver: 'I hope you go to hell'

ATLANTA — For the first time the mother of a 9-year-old boy killed by a driver police say was high is speaking out about the death of her son.

Family and friends held a vigil near the site on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard where Isaiah Ward, 9, was killed and two other children were injured Friday night.

Police say Ryan Lisabeth was high on drugs when he allegedly hit the children, who were on the sidewalk.

That sidewalk has turned into a memorial for Isaiah after he was taken off a respirator Sunday and passed away. %

“He had everything to live for. He had people who loved him,” his aunt, Jennifer Toomer, said Wednesday evening.

They showed their love for Isaiah in an emotional candlelight vigil.

“One little boy is gone that will never able to bless this earth with his talent,” Toomer told Johnson.

Family confirmed to Johnson that Isaiah's 11-year-old brother Roland is now out of the hospital. %

, 12, told Channel 2 Action News her son is in intensive care with two skull fractures.

“I'll be calling his name and I asked the nurse, ‘do they know who I am?' 'They can't say right now,'” said Teresa Lawrence.

Lisabeth faces multiple charges including vehicular homicide to go with his three previous DUI convictions.

Isaiah's mother Michelle Ward fought through tears to say only one thing her son's accused killer: “I hope he goes to hell.”

Friends vowed to Isaiah's mother they would show Lisabeth their anger in person. %

“You have all our support, 100 percent, every time he's in court. We’re gonna be in court,” friend Helena McClain said.

The grieving community said they are praying for the two boys to recover and for Lisabeth to never get behind the wheel again.

“Give him what he deserves -- life,” Toomer said.

Family members also hope that Lisabeth does not receive a chance for parole.
