Jason Lockhart out of hospital after baseball accident

ATLANTA — The son of a former Atlanta Braves player who was hit in the face with a baseball is now home!

Jason Lockhart,15, was playing in a baseball tournament in South Carolina on June 17 when the accident happened. According to the family, when Lockhart touched home plate, the catcher was throwing the ball back to the pitcher. It hit Jason in the face, breaking his nose.

Lockhart is the son of former Braves player Keith Lockhart.

He initially received stitches but on June 19 his nose began to bleed profusely and doctors determined his condition was worse than they originally thought. Jason then underwent multiple surgeries and at one point was put on life support so doctors could monitor and contain any bleeding.
