Reward increased to $5,000 to catch man suspected in Clark Atlanta shooting

ATLANTA — Police are now offering a $5,000 reward to catch the man they believe shot four college students at a Clark Atlanta University party earlier this week.

Police say someone shot the students at a block party near the CAU campus Tuesday night. Police identified the victims as Erin Ennis, 18, Maia Williams-McLaren, 18, Elyse Spencer, 18 and Kia Thomas, 19.

Atlanta City Council member Cleta Winslow announced that she was upping the original reward by $3,000 to find a man captured on surveillance video in a news conference Sunday. The reward now stands at $5,000.

"I"m pleading with you to please, somebody out there knows who this person is," Winslow said Sunday afternoon.

Winslow said it's important that officials get the man off the streets.

"Anybody that would just come up on a school campus and just indiscriminately start firing deserves as much time as the law can give him," Winslow said.

Police do not believe the suspect is a student. They released surveillance video of him days ago but so far, no one has identified him.

Investigators are now desperate for answers. Winslow said she hopes adding $3,000 to the original $2,000 offered by CrimeStoppers will spark some leads.

"We're hoping that will get someone in the community talking," Winslow said. "They haven't said anything.

Atlanta Police also said at the press conference that they have already implemented increased patrols and have their gun assault team following up on leads.

They are asking anyone who has any information to call them.
