Reports: Braves interested in signing Tim Tebow

ATLANTA — Tim Tebow haunted Georgia football fans during his four years as a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback at Florida.

Now, Georgia's Major League Baseball team could sign the former Gator to a contract.

There are reports that the Braves are interested in signing the 29-year old Tebow to a minor league deal after they were one of 28 teams to watch him workout this week.  This is despite the fact that Tebow has not played baseball competitively since 2005, during his junior year in high school.

Tebow is second only to UGA's Aaron Murray in total offense in SEC history (12,232 yards), but first in career touchdowns responsible for 145.  He was part of two national championship teams for the Gators (2006, 2008).

After unsuccessful attempts to remain in the NFL following stints with the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, Tim Tebow as an Atlanta Brave is now a very real possibility, although it might very well be in the distant future.
