Police search for men accused of sexually assaulting woman leaving gas station

ATLANTA — Atlanta police are searching for four people they say sexually assaulted a woman.

Police said the men followed a 34-year-old woman as she left a gas station Sept. 28 around 2 a.m.

They allegedly approached her on Hill Street while she was walking to a nearby apartment complex.

"I don't know what to say. It's really disgusting and it's crazy to me," neighbor Safiya Kiongozi said. "This just doesn't happen. For four people you got together and made a plan. That's disgusting.

Investigators do not believe the victim knew the men. The suspects are believed to be between 15 and 20 years old with ties to Decatur.

"It also makes me fearful as a woman," Kiongozi said.

Police released sketches of three of the four suspects.

Channel 2's Nefertiti Jaquez showed the sketches to a man who lives in the area. Karl Anderson said two of the men look familiar, but he doesn't remember the last time he saw either of them.

"It worries me for my wife and girls," he said.

Police said they have identified one of the suspects, but all four men are still on the run.
