Police officer suffers minor injuries after foot chase

ATLANTA — A police officer is recovering from cuts and bruises after a struggle to arrest a man, who ran away from a traffic stop.

Atlanta police say an officer stopped a car with three people inside on Welch Street in southwest Atlanta around 1 a.m. Monday.

Police said a man with a gun got out and ran away. Officers chased and later had to Taser the suspect to take him into custody.

Emergency crews loaded him into an ambulance.

The two other people remained in the vehicle.
