Police identify body in trunk of car at MARTA station

MARTA police said they received a phone call to check out a car in the parking lot of the H.E. Holmes MARTA station.

ATLANTA — Atlanta and MARTA police are investigating a body found Tuesday afternoon in the trunk of a car at a MARTA station.

MARTA police said they received a phone call to check out a car in the parking lot of the H.E. Holmes MARTA station.

Police said they opened the car's trunk and found the body of a man inside.

MARTA Police identified the victim as Christopher J. Dean, 33, of Lithia Springs.

Preliminary findings indicate that Dean was killed at another location and taken to the MARTA parking lot and abandoned with his vehicle, MARTA spokeswoman Alisa Jackson said.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact MARTA Police at 404-848-4911.

The incident did not affect MARTA service.
