Police said the man in red shot the gas station worker twice in the leg as the worker was trying to defend his girlfriend.

The woman was able to get the gun away from the man in red and fire a shot, police said.

Detectives said the second suspect tried to fire his gun, but it jammed.

"She was real lucky because she wasn't shot," the woman's father said. "We've got to do something about this because it's gotten plum ridiculous with people just running up with these guns ... like World War I or something."

Police said they are going over the surveillance video to help them find the gunmen.
