Man fatally shot at southwest Atlanta recording studio

ATLANTA — Atlanta police investigated a homicide at The Metropolitan recording studio in southwest Atlanta Monday night.

It's the same place where someone shot and killed two men earlier this year.

Police told Channel 2’s Matt Johnson they went to the business on Metropolitan Parkway around 8:30 p.m.

That's when they said they found Anthony Freeman dead with several gunshot wounds outside the building.

“It appears that the victim was the intended target but we still have a lot of work to do right now,” said Lt. Charles Hampton.

Johnson said police appeared to be focusing their attention on a crime scene outside the building in the far back of the property.

Investigators said they believe Freeman was the intended target.

So far, no arrests have been made in the case.

Authorities are searching for witnesses who may have driven away after the shooting.

“I'm not going to say that it's related, or that cars leaving was related, that's why we're asking anyone who was here, they know or heard anything to give us a call,” Hampton said.

In April, Jerome Blake, 28, was one of two people shot and killed at a recording studio inside the Metropolitan Arts District.

Blake's family says he was a rapper. His first time at the studio was the night he was killed.

Anyone with information in this shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
