Gunmen terrorize nail salon customers during violent robbery

ATLANTA — Police are searching for two gunmen they said who terrorized customers and staff at a nail salon while they robbed the business.

Police told Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes the suspects hurt people during the armed robbery.

It was Friday around 8 p.m. when the gunmen walked into the packed Lush Nail Salon in Buckhead, police said.

Police said the robbery suspects told all the customers and workers to get on the floor and hand over their credit cards and cash.

They were all caught off guard.

According to the police report, one customer was on her phone when the suspects walked in.

When she didn’t get off the phone and get on the floor fast enough – police say – one suspect hit her in the head with a gun.

The report also said that one of the suspects kicked a worker and pistol-whipped a different employee.

Billy Pero owns a restaurant that’s in the same plaza as the nail salon and told Fernandes that it’s terrifying to hear what happened at the nail salon and to the owner.

“Yes, we were shocked because we’re friends with them and he comes in here for lunch all the time,” Pero said.

Pero believes thieves are targeting the area, looking for opportunities.

“Actually, one of our delivery drivers, his car got broken into two weeks ago,” Pero said. “We just need to step up security in our plaza – it’s scary.”

Police said officers will be patrolling the plaza more often.

“Hopefully, they’ll step it up and keep everybody safe,” Pero said.
