ATLANTA — The Georgia State Patrol is searching for a driver after a high-speed chase that ended when a car crashed into an apartment building.
Troopers said the car hit a gas line. Crews shut off the gas, but the impact of the crash damaged the building and knocked out the electricity.
It started late Thursday night when authorities said state patrol noticed a BMW speeding on Piedmont Road. The trooper chased the car but the driver did not stop.
The driver then crashed into a building at the Pointe at Lindbergh Apartments.
Channel 2's Darryn Moore talked to authorities at the scene of the crash.

Firefighters cut through a guard rail so a wrecker driver could pull the smashed BMW from the building in Buckhead.
Troopers said the driver got away but hope evidence left inside the car will lead them to the driver.
