"It's really inspiring when I come and look around at the size of the stadium," Greenwood said. "It's actually really cool to see."

Panthers head coach Shawn Elliot discussed what fans could expect.

"They brought in new seating and new lighting," Elliot said.

Crews continued to work on the new turf, and the field is set to be complete by late August. When that time comes, players will also see big changes on the inside of the stadium.

"We have new lockers and a training room," Elliot said.

For Elliot, however, he said the most important thing is that Georgia State has a stadium they can call their own, a place stepped in history and inspiration.

"The greatest athletes in the world ran here and played here," Elliot said. "Now, it is apart of our history for us to come out and make it our own."

The Panthers will play their first game in the new stadium on Aug. 31 against Tennessee.
