Flyers see long lines at Atlanta airport on busy travel day

Atlanta airport on Sunday after Thanksgiving

ATLANTA — Flyers are lining up at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on the busiest travel day of the year.

Atlanta is the country’s busiest airport and it is living up to its name.

Channel 2's Rikki Klaus saw long lines at a security checkpoint at the airport around 11 a.m. Sunday.

People heading home from Thanksgiving travel gathered in long lines at Atlanta airport’s security checkpoint, at the north terminal late Sunday morning.

TSA says Sunday is predicted to be one of the busiest days ever for the agency, with a predicted 2.6 million people being screened.

Google recommends not flying today at all– but booking a flight home tomorrow. Travelers we talked to agreed it was very busy and said it’s stop and go.
