Creflo Dollar's June trip to Scotland comes under fire

The Rev. David Robertson, moderator of the Free Church of Scotland, said Dollar’s teaching and lifestyle are “the last thing Scotland needs — and is contrary to the Gospel of Jesus.”

Robertson, who also serves as director of the

, responded to several emailed questions from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Free Church of Scotland, which is an evangelical Presbyterian church, has 15,000 members and adherents. Destiny Ministries is described on its website as a “contemporary apostolic movement.”

Robertson, of course, can’t keep the televangelist from Scotland even if he disagrees with his prosperity gospel message, which he equates to “blasphemy.”

“He is free to come,” Robertson said. “We are not asking him to be banned. We believe in free speech and we are using it to critique his message and methodology. Most people who have heard of him probably regard him as a spoof/joke. A tele evangelist (sic) called Dollar who asks his congregation to buy him a $60 million private jet! You could not make it up.”
