ATLANTA — As Atlanta celebrates the 20th anniversary of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, Channel 2 takes an in-depth look at the legacy of the games.

Channel 2 anchors Justin Farmer and Jovita Moore look back at what it took to bring the games to Atlanta, how the city came together and the legacy left behind.

The program features untold stories from the people who dreamed it was possible to bring the Olympics to Atlanta: Billy Payne and ambassador Andrew Young.

In the one-hour special Sunday at 7 p.m., some of the world's top Olympians share their memories from the games and why Atlanta was such a special place for them to compete.

Channel 2 explores current plans to ensure that Atlanta's Olympic legacy lives on. Plans are underway right now to reinvigorate the games' most enduring legacy, Centennial Olympic park.

"Channel 2, through our long running Family 2 Family project, is committed to bringing Georgians programs that support the community," said Tim McVay, Vice President and General Manager of Channel 2 WSB-TV. "This program is a great way to shine a light on a proud moment in this city's history and what's being done now to preserve that legacy."
