• Atlanta United sets MLS postseason attendance record in first playoff game


    ATLANTA - After a historic inaugural season, Atlanta United played its first playoff game Thursday night.

    The game against Columbus Crew SC took place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

    Atlanta United is the first MLS expansion team since Seattle in 2009 to qualify for the playoffs in its first year.

    The team set a postseason MLS attendance record with 67,221 tickets for the game. 

    Atlanta United lost to Columbus Crew in penalty kicks.
