ATLANTA - Atlanta police are investigating a string of burglaries at a Buckhead apartment complex.

Surveillance video from the Allure at Brookwood Apartments on Peachtree Valley Road showed one man hopping over a fence and letting his accomplice in as a red SUV waited outside.

Detective Drew Bahry told Channel 2's Amy Napier Viteri he believes the men are behind a string of around ten burglaries at the building.

Video showed the men stealing items from the complex media room and then carrying out a resident's flat screen TV.

"I came home and the door frame was split and the door the lock was broken smashed in," neighbor Russell Marks told Viteri.

Marks said someone broke into his apartment on July 25 and stole whatever they could grab quickly.

"Three laptops, an iPad, clothing in the thousands for sure, $5-6,000,” Marks said.

In one case, the criminals got away with diamond jewelry, laptops and a gold-plated collector’s rifle investigators estimated to be worth at least $10,000.

"I'm praying all the time that nobody wants to break in again," said one neighbor who asked not to be identified.

The woman said she worried criminals who broke into the apartment she shares with her husband and 5-month-old daughter could return.

"My fear is that I don't feel safe anymore and so, we want to move," the woman said.

The complex management supplied police with the surveillance video and told Channel 2 Action News they are cooperating fully with the investigation.

Police want anyone who recognizes the men in the video to call CrimeStoppers at (404) 577-TIPS.
