Arson eyed in North Fulton high school stadium fire

NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Arson investigators say someone set athletic equipment on fire at a North Fulton County high school overnight.

Crews were called to the Northview High School football stadium after someone set track and field equipment on fire.

Firefighters were still at the school Monday morning looking at the damage from the fire.

Channel 2's Dave Huddleston saw fire investigators suiting up checking out the stadium. Crews walked away with bags filled with possible evidence. School officials said there was no structural damage to the stadium. Officials say someone set the high jump and pole vaulting mats on fire. They were stored underneath the stadium.

There are no students at the school this week due to spring break.
