Arrests made in violent robberies of Asian-owned businesses

ATLANTA — The FBI said they have arrested two people believed to be responsible for a recent series of violent commercial robberies around metro Atlanta targeting Asian owned and operated businesses and salons.

Tabyron Rashad Smith, 22, of Atlanta, was arrested by an FBI task force on Tuesday at a family home in Fairburn.

Davrion Sanchez Ware, 22, of Atlanta, was arrested by an FBI task force Wednesday at a Stone Mountain home.

Investigators said the pair and another still unknown person are responsible for 10 robberies across metro Atlanta, from Duluth to Stone Mountain to Atlanta.

Police said there were at least 10 robberies over the span of a month. In several of the robberies, the robbers wore the same clothing.

One of those robberies happened at a Roswell spa on Nov. 10. Surveillance video shows three men with guns robbing and pistol-whipping employees and customers.

"They put a gun to my head and used a gun to hit everybody in the head," said one worker, who did not want to be identified.

Investigators said social media helped link the suspects to the crimes, including a picture of one of the suspects holding a gun that matches a gun used in the attacks.

Workers and customers said they are thankful for the arrests.

"It was just really worrisome because I didn't want to see those guys again," the worker said.

The FBI said the investigation is ongoing. Police are still looking for a third suspect.
