Arrest made in cooking oil theft

VILLA RICA, Ga.,None - Villa Rica police have arrested one of two suspects in the theft of more than 100 gallons of cooking oil.

Surveillance footage shows two men using a hose to siphon used cooking oil from three 55-gallon drums outside a Big Chic restaurant early Saturday morning.

After receiving information from the Hiram Police Department regarding the vehicle used in the theft, Villa Rica police identified Chrystian Hernandez, 21, as the driver. Hernandez was arrested on charges of theft by taking.

Police said investigators are still trying to identify the second thief.

Police said the company gathering the oil for processing is Green Solutions. Dallas police are handling any charges against the business in relation to its lack of a business license, among other violations.
