Armed robbers target 2 Dollar General stores in 1 week, police say

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A store clerk said she is traumatized after two robbers rushed into her store and shoved a gun in her face.

Police said on Sept. 12, as workers were getting ready to close the Dollar General on Highway 155 in Stockbridge, two armed robbers walked in. One of the robbers was wearing a mask.

“One had what looks like an assault rifle. The other one, in the Hawks uniform, looks like he’s carrying a small-caliber handgun,” Henry County police Maj. Mike Ireland said.

One robber forced a female employee to open the safe and cash register. Surveillance video shows the other robber fire his weapon.

“Whether or not it was accidental or if it was on purpose, we don’t know at this time,” Ireland said.

They say that week robbers also hit another Dollar General in Henry County. They are investigating if there is a connection.

“It seems they’re very aggressive in going into the stores and committing these robberies,” Ireland said.
