Alleged peeping Tom caught by residents

ATLANTA — A peeping Tom is in jail after he was caught acting strangely, according to police.

Deerfield apartment resident Julian Barrett walked Channel 2’s Liz Artz through what he witnessed early Thursday morning.

"He was right there, he was looking up there and saying ‘lady’ or something and moaning, you know, craziness," Barrett said.

Barrett said he thought he had seen it all until 3 a.m. Thursday. He said when he told the alleged peeper, Pete Bagratis, to leave he was cordial and left.

"He looked naked to me, but our other friend said he had a body suit on," said Barrett.

Police said they received a 911 call from another resident who kept an eye on the man through her apartment window until police could arrive.

Police said Bagratis was pressed up against a window, touching himself and moaning loudly.

According to police, when officers arrived they confronted Bargratis, who ran to the back of the complex and was found hiding underneath a stair well.

Bagratis was arrested and charged with prowling. Resident Maria Martin was shocked to hear what happened feet from her apartment window and said she was glad it wasn’t her window.

"Thankfully I live on the second floor, maybe it will be a little harder for the next guy," Martin joked.
