$5K reward offered to solve Buckhead robberies, kidnappings

ATLANTA — A group in Buckhead is paying it forward to fight recent robberies in the area.

Atlanta police are tracking a spike in robberies and kidnappings in the vicinity of Lenox and Peachtree roads.

In the last few weeks, police said, two people were kidnapped from Lenox Oaks Circle.

One woman told Channel 2 Action News she was forced to withdraw money from an ATM, and there are similar reports in two nearby locations.

Now, the Buckhead Coalition is stepping in with a reward. The group is offering $5,000 for the arrest and conviction of the people responsible. That reward is offered for each crime, so it could add up.

"(With a) reward of $5,000 each, frankly, a good tipster would earn more money than a perpetrator if he would help bring these people to justice," said Sam Massell, with the Buckhead Coalition.

Anyone with information is asked to call the tip line at 404-816-7067.
