4 arrested after pot found in U-Haul

FULTON COUNTY, Ga.,None — Officials in south Fulton County arrested four people in connection with a marijuana bust.

Police said a chain of events led officers from a U-Haul truck full of drugs to a suspected grow house.

Newschopper 2 was over the scene Friday as investigators combed through a home on Wyncreek Place.

Police said someone was growing marijuana in the basement of the home – an elaborate operation that police believe had been in existence for a long time.

“Huge pots, maybe 30-40 pots, and they were all stacked in a U-Haul truck,” said one neighbor, who did not want to be identified.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Eric Philips learned authorities stopped the marijuana-loaded truck on Camp Creek Parkway and traced it back to the home.

Neighbors Philips spoke with said they weren’t shocked.  They said they’ve been suspicious of the house where no one’s lived for a while.

“There would be no activity during the daylight hours and then a lot of activity after midnight,” said neighbor Eric Chubb.  “For anyone to sit around and say, ‘This surprises me,’ or ‘I wouldn’t suspect something in this neighborhood,’ stop lying to yourself.”

Three men and one woman were arrested.  Their names have not been released.
