Teen dies in triple shooting in Lithonia

LITHONIA, Ga. — A 16-year-old shot in Lithonia Tuesday morning has died, but no charges have been filed.

Police and neighbors told Channel 2's Sophia Choi they believe the shooter and the gunman knew each other.

Residents said the 16-year-old was left bleeding in a yard on Browns Mill Ferry Drive after the shooting around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday. The man police detained as a possible shooter lives across the street.

Two others are in critical condition.

"My wife and I were laying in the bed and we just heard something go, 'Pow pow pow pow,' and all of a sudden I just saw blue lights everywhere," neighbor Horace Weaver said.

The call originally came in to police as a robbery, possibly involving drugs. For now, they are not sure who was being robbed, so no charges have been filed.
