3 found dead inside Sandy Springs home

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Sandy Springs police are investigating a fatal shooting that killed three people.

Officers were called to Brandon Ridge Drive late Wednesday afternoon after three adults were found shot to death.

Investigators told Channel 2's Eric Philips that Charles Renner, 45, of Kennesaw, his sister, Suzanne Renner, 49, and their mother, Edith Renner, 89, were found dead inside the home.

"A co-worker of the male victim inside the house was concerned because he missed a meeting and contacted family members, and was told he was probably here where his mother lives," Sandy Springs police spokesman Steve Rose said.

The co-worker found the bodies around 4 p.m. and called 911. Police told Philips a gun was found near Charles Renner.

Suzanne Renner lived with her mother at the home on Brandon Ridge Drive because the senior suffered from severe arthritis, neighbors said. They said the Renners were longtime residents of the neighborhood and couldn't believe what happened there Wednesday.

"It's very, very shocking and very troubling. We know the people. Edith was one of the most gentle people you could ever see," neighbor Frank Blankenship told Philips.
