Driver, passenger injured in MARTA handicapped van crash

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A MARTA handicapped van crashed at I-20 Monday morning, injuring the driver and passenger.

The van was going eastbound on I-20 past Flat Shoals Road around 10:30 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, according to a MARTA spokesperson.

The driver was thrown from the van, and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, along with the one passenger on board. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

All eastbound lanes, except for the HOV lane, were blocked for about an hour while authorities investigated and cleared the wreck.
