2 shot near Riverdale graduation party

RIVERDALE, Ga. — Two people are in the hospital after police say someone shot them near a graduation party in Riverdale early Saturday morning.

A Channel 2 Action News crew found a crowd of people hugging and yelling after the shooting on Webb Road near Highway 85.

Clayton County police said two males wandered to the nearby Sutter Lake apartments after a large graduation party wound down.

"They encountered some females and began a conversation according to witnesses account. During that conversation, the driver of the vehicle noticed a male subject brandishing a weapon approaching the vehicle," said Clayton County police officer Clarence Cox.

Things soon took a turn for the worse.

"The subject approached the vehicle and fired shots into the vehicle, wounding two passengers of the vehicle," Cox said.

Police said the driver of the car and the front-seat passenger were rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Cook is trying to get an update on their condition. So far, no arrests have been made.
