2 severely burned in homeless camp fire

A man is in custody after a Tuesday morning homeless camp fire that severely injured two people near Noonday Church Road in Cobb County.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A man is in custody after a Wednesday morning homeless camp fire that severely injured two people.

The fire happened on Noonday Church Road in Cobb County.

Cobb County police said Wanda Kight, 51 and Raymond Matthews, 49 were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for severe burns.

A man police identified as Melvin Hood is in custody. Channel 2 Action News is working to gather more details in this situation and arson investigators are collecting evidence at the scene.
