2 killed in I-575 wreck

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — At least two people were killed in a wreck on a Cobb County interstate Monday, police said.

The crash happened on Interstate 575 north of Chastain Road sometime before 2 p.m.

A car heading northbound in the left lane crossed the median and slammed into a small tanker truck, police told Channel 2's Ross Cavitt. Cobb County police are investigating the crash. They have not released the victim's names.

I-575 southbound traffic was being diverted off interstate at Bells Ferry Road, and southbound lanes were closed as crews worked to clear the scene.
